Burst Oral Care has launched black floss, in a refillable dispenser. But it’s not typical floss — it’s Expanding Floss, and made with proprietary technology, the company says. The floss expands on contact with saliva, and the increased surface area provides a deeper clean.

The Expanding Black Mint Eucalyptus Floss allows users to see everything that comes off your teeth. It was developed in conjunction with BURST’s Ambassador network of 25,000 dental professionals, with samples then developed for 1,000 specialists to test and improve on for over a year.

Burst says it addresses the gap in the floss market that previously consisted of only two kinds of floss – thin, which was easier for patients to get in between their teeth but didn’t grab enough plaque, and thick, which was more difficult for patients to fit in between their teeth.

The company’s subscription model gives users the option of receiving a 32-yard bobbin as a refill every three months. It slides into a stylish black reusable case.
